April 11th: day of boredom births rain lesson

Day 207
Slept until 10:30ish, wrote, tried to listen to Jenn's radio show, but the server was being wonky. Planned on a bike ride, but weather had other plans. Overcast, rainy, generally unpleasant.Entertained the idea of doing laundry, but couldn't quite be bothered enough.
Had cheese and crackers for lunch. The weather gave me an idea for this week's lesson plan: rain. Vocab, phrases, interrogation of what is good and bad about rain, activities, and finish it with the song "Singin' in the Rain."
I rode up to the middle school and rallied the troops for tree dumplings. We toasted to the 12 more weeks together and 8 years of Jeni's cancerlessness. Heather and I watched "Vertical Limit" and then I pedaled home, watched BBC for a bit. A textbook that whitewashes some of Japan's past atrocities has sparked a shitstorm of anti-Japanese sentiment. In Beijing, the Japanese embassy was vandalized. I'm curious what the textbook said that has the Chinese frothing so.
I retired and slept hard.
